Wooden Range Hoods

When walking into any kitchen one of the most striking features that often catches your eye is the range hoods. Whether it's an industrial stainless steel affair or a more delicate construction out of glass there is just something about them that looks so fascinating. They can come as simple units built into a cupboard to large hand made copper range hoods. As a result, the price of them often varies quite considerably also.

They provide an essential safety function in the kitchen. Cooking produces particulate matter, gases and fumes often from burning cooking oil. If inhaled they can irritate the airways, especially if you suffer from any chest condition such as asthma or bronchitis. Therefore, they are important for keeping the air clean and keeping your family healthy.

When sizing a range hood it is important to make sure the edges overlap the edges of the cooking surface to enable efficient extraction of the fumes. Also you will need to decide on a vented or non vented model, both of which differ in their method of air cleaning.
